Employees from ASR Group’s Chicago and Calumet Plants volunteered to assemble approximately 600 personal care kits to support families staying at the Ronald McDonald House near Advocate Children’s Hospital in Oak Lawn, Illinois. The charity offers a home away from home for families with hospitalized children, allowing them to stay close during medical treatments and get better together.

“The care kits our teams put together provide families with essential items such as toothbrushes and other toiletries, which help them spend more time with their children in the hospital,” said Chicago and Calumet Plant Manager Matt Gilbert. “I was really proud of our volunteers for making so many kits and getting them over to the Ronald McDonald House, which was very appreciative of their efforts.”

The Ronald McDonald House was running low on kits, so our team’s work will make a difference for the charity right away.

“Our two plants came together one for a good cause,” said Angelica Betancourt, Operator 2 at the Chicago Plant. “Aside from the joy of being able to help families in need, this was an opportunity to work together, and it was a success! I hope to be able to do this again in the future.”

ASR Group has supported the Ronald McDonald House in Oak Lawn for several years, including through financial contributions and volunteer events.
