Redpath Sugar was proud to sponsor Chefs for Change, a special event that brought together Toronto’s top culinary talent in support of the Toronto Foundation for Student Success (TFSS). Held on April 1, the event showcased the creativity of renowned chefs, including Michelin Star recipients, who transformed childhood classics into gourmet dishes—all in the name of combating food insecurity among local students.

“We were honored to support Chefs for Change and the incredible work of TFSS,” said Cy Ryan, President of Redpath Sugar, Ltd. “TFSS provides more than 225,000 meals every school day to children across Toronto District School Board schools. Their programs ensure that students have access to nutritious meals so they can focus on learning and thriving.”

Special guests Olivia Chow, Mayor of Toronto and Doug Ford, Premier of Ontario underscored the importance of TFSS in addressing food insecurity at a systemic level. In addition to providing meals for underprivileged students, TFSS has expanded its programs to include eye and ear care, emergency funds and after school programs for children in need.

“Our sponsorship of Chefs for Change reflects our deep commitment to combating food insecurity and supporting the well-being of our Toronto community, where we are also proud to donate sugar to support local food pantries each year,” said Brand Development Manager Ashley Black. “By partnering with organizations like TFSS, we can continue to make a meaningful difference, one meal at a time."
