Our team in Mexico recently organized a volleyball tournament that brought together members of our Fortín, Veracruz community.
"Promoting sports is fundamental for the development of our community; it fosters health, teamwork and the emotional and mental well-being of everyone," said María Eugenia Almazán, Sr. Marketing & Sustainability Manager.
Fortín is home to our Domino Comercio packaging facility and our Fortín division office, which serves more than 580 sugarcane farmers, who deliver their cane to our Ingenio San Nicolás (ISN) Sugar Mill.
The Dulce Voleibol tournament was a huge success, with seven teams divided into adolescent and youth categories competing for more than five hours, showcasing their high performance and passion for the sport. The two top winning teams in each category won Domino® Refined Sugar – just in time for the holiday baking season – as well as a volleyball, and other teams received sugar as well.
“We are grateful for the support and facilities provided by the local officials, which were key to making this event possible,” said María Eugenia. “We also extend our thanks to the Donations Committee, Human Resources, Medical Services, Social Communication and Marketing, whose efforts made this event a success.”
