Our Belize Sugar Industries (BSI) team recently came together for a unique and interactive celebration of Supply Chain Day, honoring the vital role the supply chain plays across all areas of the business.

Organized by the Supply Chain department, this year’s event spotlighted the interconnected efforts that drive success—from cane farmers and factory teams to the many other departments that help keep the business running smoothly.

The theme for the day drew inspiration from supply chain expert Keith Oliver, who described the supply chain as “the backbone of an industry.”

“Just as a backbone supports the human body, the supply chain provides the essential structure that enables our operations to function effectively,” said Eldy Smith, Sr. Supply Chain Manager. “But, as was emphasized throughout Supply Chain Day, no part of the organization functions in isolation. Success in the Supply Chain, or any part of our operations, is the result of strong communication, cooperation and collaboration.”

To reflect this spirit of unity, participants from all departments took part in a collaborative mural-painting activity, led by local artist Shadeed Chan, creating a vibrant piece on a wall near one of the warehouses at BSI’s Tower Hill facility. The painting served as a creative and symbolic representation of how each team contributes to the bigger picture and drives our shared success.

“As the 2025 crop season progresses, the message of Supply Chain Day continues to resonate,” said Eldy. “Our strength lies in our unity, and collaboration remains the key to moving forward together.”
