On October 10, 15 employees from ASR Group’s Domino® Sugar Baltimore Refinery descended on the Locust Point Community Center, less than a mile from the plant, to transform the exterior of the decades-old building, which hosts daily programs for seniors and children from the South Baltimore community and from all over the city.
“Being a good neighbor means being responsive to the community, supporting local organizations and investing in community assets,” said Peter O’Malley, Vice President of Corporate Relations. “It’s part of our more than 100-year legacy in Baltimore. What both our neighbors and employees seem to enjoy the most is the direct engagement we have with the community through an event like this.”
Work carried out by refinery employees, and some neighbors who worked alongside, included pressure washing the building, steps and walkways; scraping and painting railings; painting several doors; planting and mulching five new bushes; pruning overgrown bushes and trees and bagging a dozen bags of leaves and debris.
We’re grateful to all of our employees who turned out to help our community!
