INFORMATION COLLECTION, USE AND DISCLOSURES

Information Collection

ASR Group does not require that you provide us with any information to browse the Site. If you wish to participate in any of the services and opportunities the Site may offer, we may ask you to provide certain personal, demographic or login information. Personal information refers to any information that can be used to personally identify you or contact you online or offline, such as your name, address, email address and phone number. Demographic information includes any non-identifiable information about you or your family, such as your gender, birthdate, product preferences and other related information. Login information refers to information you create or set up when registering for an account through the Site (such as a username, password, and security question and answer). Login information allows you to access and update your online account information and preferences through the Site.

As noted above, personal, demographic, and login information is only collected from you with your knowledge (that is, if you voluntarily provide it to us). We collect this information primarily to communicate and share news with subscribers and to respond to your questions or suggestions. We also use personal, demographic and login information to provide you with marketing and promotions that are tailored to your interests.

ASR Group may use your information to create summary statistics and to determine the level of interest in information available on the Site.

We use an IP address to identify that a user has visited the Site on a specific device. We do not have the ability to connect an IP address with an individual identifiable person.

To ensure that content from the Site is presented in the most effective manner for you and for your computer;
To allow you to participate in interactive features of our services, when you choose to do so;

When you contact us with business opportunities, product questions or concerns, career inquiries or for media contacts; and

Information Disclosures

We may also share personal, demographic, login, and usage information with certain affiliates of ASR Group. Doing this allows us to introduce you to products and services offered by our affiliates.

ASR Group may share non-identifiable, aggregate demographic or usage information about the Site and its users with advertisers, business partners, sponsors and other third-parties in an effort to customize or enhance the Site’s content and advertising for our users.

Legal and Business Transfers

SMS MESSAGES

You may consent to receiving promotional information and updates, as well as abandoned cart messages, from us via SMS text messages. When you provide your consent, we collect and use your mobile phone number and share it with Attentive, our SMS service provider. The following terms apply to our SMS program:

  1. Voluntary Consent: Participation is voluntary. You have the right to refuse consent after you have provided it.
  2. Message Frequency: You may receive periodic messages basedon the information and promotions we believe are relevant to you. Message frequency may vary.
  3. Data Usage: Standard message and data rates may apply to any messages sent from us. 
  4. Opt-Out Option: You may opt-out of receiving SMS text messages at any time by replying “STOP” to any message you receive.
  5. Disputes: Any disputes relating to the SMS program will be resolved through binding individual arbitration. You must notify us in writing of your claim prior to seeking arbitration. Any arbitration action must be initiated within 100 days of the event(s) giving rise to your claim. You may not bring, or join, a class action (or other representative action) asserting any claim relating to the SMS program.

RETENTION

We will retain personal information for no longer than is necessary for the purposes for which such personal information was originally collected.

CHILDREN AND PRIVACY

ASR Group does not knowingly solicit or collect personal or other information from children under the age of 13 through the Site. If we learn at any time that we have inadvertently collected personal information from a child, we will promptly delete the information from our records.

As a parent, you can always ask to review any personal information about your child that has been collected by the Site, have us delete this information (if ASR Group still has the information in our databases), and/or instruct us not to collect or use your child's information in the future. THIRD PARTY OFFERS AND INFORMATION FROM ASR GROUP

From time to time, we are approached by reputable third-party companies and organizations that provide products or services that we believe may be of interest to you. As a result, these third-party products may be delivered to you together with some of our own products or services, for example, as inserts. We see this as a value-added service helping you find special offers on products and services that may be of interest to you. Please remember that the products we send you in connection with this particular service come directly from ASR Group and, therefore, do not require us to share your personal information with third-party companies. If you would prefer not to receive these third-party products from ASR Group, you must request to opt-out from receiving communications from ASR Group.

WEB BEACONS AND COOKIES

We may also use web beacons or other similar technology (“Beacons”) on the Site or include them in an email message we send you. Beacons are small strings of code that provide a method of delivering a graphic image on a web page or in an email message for the purpose of transferring data back to us. The information collected via Beacons may include information about how a user responds to an email campaign from ASR Group (for example, the time the email is opened, where does the user link to from the email, etc.). We use Beacon information for a variety of purposes, including but not limited to, Site traffic reporting, unique visitor counts, advertising and email auditing and reporting and personalization.

ASR Group may also use “cookie” technology on the Site. A “cookie” is a non-executable element of data that a website stores on your browser or your computer's hard drive. These cookies help us to provide you with a good experience when you browse the Site and also allow us to improve the Site.

The cookie does not extract personal information about you. Most browsers provide a simple procedure that will enable you to control whether you want to receive cookies by notifying you when a website is about to deposit a cookie.

  1. AGKN: Enables real time targeting and aggregates anonymous ads based on the user’s preferences. To disable AGKN in your browser, you can opt out here.
  2. Analytical/performance cookies: These allow us to recognize and count the number of visitors and to see how visitors move around the Site when they are using it. This helps us to improve the way the Site works, for example, by ensuring that users are finding what they are looking for easily.
  3. Big Pipe Module Cookies: Allows us to flush the initial page first, and then stream the replacements for the placeholders. This results in hugely improved front-end/perceived performance.
  4. Comment Module Cookies: When enabled, the Drupal comment module creates a discussion board for each Drupal node. Users can post comments to discuss a forum topic, weblog post, story, collaborative book page, etc.
  5. Cookies for testing: Uploads a test to a private node and checks access for development purposes.
  6. Datepicker Cookies: Allows users to sort events by date.

  8. Functionality cookies: These are used to recognize you when you return to the Site. This enables us to personalize our content for you, greet you by name and remember your preferences.

  10. Guzzle: A PHP HTTP client that makes it easy to send HTTP requests and integrates with web services.
  11. Hal Module: When enabled, the HAL module serializes entities using HAL (Hypertext Application Language).

  14. JQuery Cookies: A plugin for reading, writing, and deleting cookies.

  16. Phantom JS: Used for automating web page interaction.
  17. ShareThis: Allows users to share pages from the site to their social channels or email while anonymously gathering data on which social channels are used most frequently. To disable ShareThis data tracking, you can opt out here.
  18. Skyglue: A Google Analytics extension that allows anonymous recognition and tracks how users are interacting with the site. To disable Skyglue in your browser, you can opt out here.
  19. Squizlabs: A client-side JavaScript application that checks an HTML document or source code and detects violations of a defined coding standard.
  20. Strictly necessary cookies: These are cookies that are required for the operation of the Site, including cookies that enable you to log into secure areas.
  21. Symfony: Facilitates long-term maintenance and scalability by complying with standard development rules.
  22. Targeting cookies: These cookies record your visit to the Site, the pages you have visited, and the links you have followed. We will use this information to make the Site and the advertising displayed on it more relevant to your interests. We may also share this information with third parties for this purpose.
  23. Zend: Provides methods for parsing HTTP response strings, collecting cookies, and easily accessing their properties. It also allows checking if a cookie matches against specific scenarios, such as request URL, expiration time, secure connection, etc.

SECURITY OF INFORMATION

ASR Group employs appropriate security measures to protect the loss, misuse and alteration of the information under our control. For certain areas of the Site, Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) software is employed, which encrypts information you input, as an additional security measure.

Unfortunately, the transmission of information via the internet is not completely secure. Although we will do our best to protect your personal data, we cannot warrant or guarantee the security of your data transmitted to our Site; and any transmission is at your own risk. Once we have received your information, we will use strict procedures and security features to try to prevent unauthorized access.

Where we have given you (or where you have chosen) a password which enables you to access certain parts of the Site, you are responsible for keeping this password confidential. We ask you not to share a password with anyone.

You always have an option not to give us any of your personal information. If you do not want to receive communications, products or materials from ASR Group, one of our affiliates or our third-party partners, please opt-out from the relevant communications, products or materials at the time of registration or when the information is collected. It may also be processed by staff operating in the United States who work for ASR Group or for one of our suppliers. By submitting your personal data, you agree to this transfer, storing or processing. ASR Group will take steps reasonably necessary to ensure that your data is treated securely and in accordance with this Privacy Policy.

You have a right under the General Data Protection Regulation to request a copy of the information we hold about you. You can always ask to review any personal information that ASR Group may have collected from you on the Site, have it updated, corrected or deleted (if ASR Group still has the information in our databases), and/or instruct ASR Group not to use this information in the future. You also have the right to register a complaint with the appropriate supervisory authority.

To verify a request, we may ask you to provide us with information that we match to the personal information we have collected from you.

You can also have an authorized agent submit a request on your behalf. If you have an agent submit the request, we require that (1) the agent provide us proof that you have to permission to submit the request and (2) you to verify your identity with us and confirm you gave the agent permission to submit the request. Those conditions, however, do not apply if you have given the agent power of attorney pursuant to California Probate Code sections 4121 to 4130.

Certain of these data elements may be deemed “sensitive” under the CCPA. To the extent that we collect and use sensitive personal information, we do so consistent with the business purposes permitted by the CCPA and its implementing regulations.

California Civil Code Section 1798.83, also known as the “Shine The Light” law, permits the Site visitors who are California residents to request and obtain from us once a year, free of charge, information about the personal information (if any) we disclose to third-parties for direct marketing purposes in the preceding calendar year.
