Ingenio San Nicolás (ISN) recently hosted its first-ever volleyball tournament for employees, a spirited two-day event that brought together six combined teams of union and salaried employees at our sports field in Veracruz, Mexico.
The inaugural employee Dulce Voleibol (Sweet Volleyball) tournament was built on ISN’s successful tradition of using volleyball to foster connections across our community and was launched to strengthen team unity, promote leadership and communication skills and foster employee well-being.
Matches kicked off with elimination rounds on November 21, followed by semifinals and a high-energy final on November 22. All teams showcased strong performance, collaboration and passion for the sport. The top two teams received bundles of Domino® Sugar and volleyballs.
“We are very pleased with the reception of this first sports event for union and salaried colleagues, as it also contributes to motivation and a sense of belonging,” said José Misael Rodríguez, Human Resources Manager.
The tournament’s success was made possible by the close collaboration of the Donations Committee, Human Resources, Medical Services, Social Communication and Marketing departments. Their teamwork not only ensured a fun and memorable event but also set a strong foundation for future sports initiatives at ISN.
